Independence Day in the time of Corona Virus
As we approached the 4th of July during the pandemic, we wanted to ask our website visitors about their holiday plans. We wanted to know whether coronavirus is going to influence how people are going to spend this day and if their political views have any part to play in their festive and precautionary choices. 1,208 website users participated in a survey conducted by between 15 June and 19 June 2020. Interested insights, such as:

  • Republicans (52 percent) are 3.5x more likely to socialize and meet people than Democrats (15 percent). 
  • Democrats are 4x more likely (13 percent) to engage in a virtual meeting than Republicans (4 percent).
  • Republicans are almost twice as likely to use patriotic items such as flags, streamers, and balloons during the event as Democrats (63 percent vs. 35 percent).
