Liverpool's Long Premier League Title Wait
It wasn't the An field party that fans had dreamed of, but there won't be too many complaints from the red part of Merseyside today after Chelsea beat Manchester City last night to make Liverpool's Premier League lead unassailable for the first time in the club's history. As our chart shows, there have been some close calls over the previous 27 seasons, but also a decent number of dark days.

This title is their 19th National League Victory, having won their first in the 1900/01 season. The 1989/90 First Division title was where it ended for the club, though, bringing near to a time of domination in the 70's and 80's and contributing to an agonizing 30-year wait for the league championship – making things all the more difficult for the club due to the unprecedented rise of formidable regional rivals Manchester United. Much of the pain is going to be washed away now, as the impressive turnaround under manager Kl opp ticks off his last big goal.
