Worldwide, 40 countries depend on the travel and tourism industry for more than 15% of their total jobs. Unsurprisingly, many of the countries that experience the most economic harm are island nations.
At the same time , data reveals the extent to which some larger nations rely on tourism. For example, the travel and tourism sector generates 479,000 jobs in New Zealand, while Cambodia 's tourism provides 2.4 million jobs.
